Notability bullet journal5/27/2023 The most important thing to keep in mind is that you’re not going to be an expert right from the start so it’s better to start simple. If you’re looking into learning how to bullet journal, there are a few things you should expect. Obviously you are allowed rest days and you don’t have to do everything perfectly but guilt-tripping myself always works for me! □ It’s a good way to almost guilt-trip yourself if you don’t end up filling it in your habit tracker. Personally, if I want to make a habit stick I keep track of it in my bullet journal and make sure I’m doing it daily. Habit trackers are great for keeping track of your habits (obviously) and pushing yourself to stick to these habits daily. You can also keep useful pages like habit trackers. I also tend to look at a computer screen aaall day so I try not to rely on my computer or my phone too much for things like planning my days and personal goals. I don’t know if it’s just me but I remember things better when I write them down on paper so I still prefer to write everything on paper instead of my notes in my phone. We’ve found this page can alleviate stress because when you take the time to express your thoughts on the page you can organize them into smaller, more actionable tasks.Keeping a bullet journal definitely helps me break down my tasks during the day. The brain dump is a page where you can release whatever is on your mind without any judgement. It’s a place where you can evaluate your relationships and understand what you need to do to improve these areas of your life. The monthly check-in is a space to check in with yourself emotionally, spiritually and physically. You’ll want to divide this page into two parts the left side for a monthly check-in and the right side for a brain dump. Don’t forget to add in any important dates from your year at a glance page (tip: it helps to use the Multi-Note feature in Notability to quickly reference both pages while filling in dates and tasks). Once the page format is complete, take a minute to transfer appointments, events, and other important dates from your existing calendars. That way you can fill it in month after month without recreating the format. Tip: Once you are happy with your design, duplicate the page before adding any content. This is where you will list out signifiers (symbols for your journal entries) and other important information. The first page of your bullet journal is the key. You can choose to customize however you want, but we’ll share our preferred method here. It’s worth noting that these pages can look different for each person. Here, we will cover all the typical pages you may want to include in your bullet journal. This simple step will save you a lot of headaches when switching between tools in the future! Step two: set up the journal structure You can even save your commonly used eraser preferences. You can save custom pens and highlighters in various thicknesses, strokes, and colors. This will save you time throughout your process and help you maintain a consistent style.
